Comfortable accommodation & Superb meals
We choose to homestay at “My Tongan Home” at Utulei Village, right on the water just a short 10 minute boat ride from the main town of Neiafu. Our host, Tupou, brings a wealth of Tongan culture to our stay and together with her staff from the village looks after us with breakfasts and most dinners. She also provides the lunches we take aboard our vessels each day.
Occasionally each group will eat at a restaurant in town for an evening meal (2 courses included) just to mix things up a little.
“My Tongan Home” has 6 large twin share guest rooms, each with its own ensuite and small deck. There’s also a “processing lab” and a lovely garden setting right on the harbour.
Our boats collect us from our private pontoon every morning.
Drawing on our 15 years of experience we have chosen to base ourselves close the main town of Neiafu for our photography tours. The logistics of whale swimming and photography don’t fit well with outer-island living, with its unreliable power for charging cameras and computers and a lack of fresh water for cleaning housings etc.
The beach at Utulei offers a chance to refresh, and some simple water craft are available to help you enjoy this corner of the harbour.
PLEASE NOTE: All accommodation on offer is twin share only. No single supplements are available.
