Your tour will give you quality time on the water (and if conditions permit, in the water), up-close and personal with the magnificent humpback whales, in the magical waters of the Hervey Bay Marine Park.
This is your chance to shoot alongside renowned photographers Darren Jew and Jasmine Carey and gain insights into the world of whale photography, and the creative processes that go into capturing their images.
Not only will you have the chance for great whale encounters in and out of the water, but you’ll also receive expert photo-guidance along the way!

Optional Creative Lab Sessions
During the evening after our days on the water, we’re offering Creative Lab Sessions that will provide guidance and tutorial in the post-processing of the day’s images in Lightroom and Photoshop. If you’d like to join us you’ll need to bring your laptop with LR and/or Photoshop loaded, and have your images downloaded, ready to process. Sessions will be help from 6:30pm – 9:00pm on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th.

Want to hire an underwater camera?
In conjunction with Brisbane’s leading camera rental company Brisbane Camera Hire, we’re excited to be offering high-end underwater camera rental for the Hervey Bay Encounters. Your pre-booked kit will be waiting for you when you board the vessel, and you can return before you disembark in the afternoon.
Rent a Canon EOS 5DMKiii with 16-35mm wide-angle lens in an Aquatech housing for $255 per day. Limited availability, so pre-booking is essential.
